Cedric Segeon how did you felt when Prince of wings passed the line on the last meeting in 2014?
I felt much relieved after the long challenge against my friend Johnny Geroudis and was so happy to finally win my first championship. I also thought of my parents who let me off the school to become a jockey even though it was very hard for them to let me leave my house so young. I thought also of my girlfriend, friends and fans here in Mauritius who always supports me.
A small word for your stable manager Patrick Merven?
Patrick is a very nice person with whom it’s easy to work with. He always listens and always very helpful. Like I always said Patrick and the Le Breton family are like a second family for me
We believe your main objective 2015 will be to retain your title.
Do you have any other objectives for the coming season?
Yes, I will try very hard to remain the Champion jockey in 2015. I will love to win a classic race for my stable. In fact that’s my goal for season 2015. Liquid Motion and Skippy John Jones will help me to achieve my goal (laugh)
A special race you would love to win in Mauritius and why?
I would love to win the Maiden cup as it’s the most important race in Mauritius. I have been in the placings few times so it’s highly time to win it now. After this like we said “J’aurais fais le tour de la roue” in the racing industry in Mauritius
You have been gaining lots of fans over the years since you are in Mauritius, do you have a message for them for this coming season?
I would like to thanks them for all their support as its really helpful for me to know they are always here to support me even during bad times and when I’m not winning much races.
One race or horse that you will always remember in mauritius ?
I will always remember my first classic race in Mauritius with Royal Chalon and Liquid Motion has a special place in my heart. I will always remember him.
